Teak is a strong and extremely weather-resistant hardwood, which stands out with a characteristic honey color when new. When untreated teak is left outdoors, this honey color gradually turns into a silvery gray patina, distinctive for naturally aged teak. Particles in the air and precipitation settle on the surface and can discolor or cause the wood to react. In the case of direct exposure to the sun, teak heats up less than other materials.
