The diameter of the cap must be the same as the outer diameter of the chair’s tube into which it is intended to fit. Never measure the inside of the tube or the ridges on the cap. (The ridges mechanically adapt to the inner diameter of the tube.)
Always measure the outer diameter.
Installation Guide: Always soak the plugs in hot water before attaching them. This makes them soft and easy to pull. Once cooled, they contract again and are firmly attached to the table leg. Without heating, the plugs are difficult or nearly impossible to attach—and you might even damage them in the process.
